After experiencing only linear optics in university, I joined the Lattice Dynamics group for my PhD to explore the world of nonlinear optics. I started with first setting up a super-resolution microscope based on frequency mixing using the institute’s free electron laser and now I use it to study phonon polaritons in polar crystals.
